This is my informational book! The entire book is all about the Giant Panda and the Red Panda. They go through different facts about the animals.
We read about their diet, when they have babies, where they usually live. It was super interesting. I had no idea that the baby cubs were born completely blind.
I also didn't know that there was a specific Wolong Panda Reserve in China designed to help keep the pandas safe. It's really sad that the Giant Panda and the Red Panda are going extinct.
This This is my informational book! This book will help you to get all the information straight! Did you know that the Giant Panda can not walk on their hind legs like most bears can do.
The Giant Panda is more similar to a cat or something, but they are so big. I loved the way this book looked and all the different elements.
The National Geographic organization does a fantastic job. I was excited to see that there was a Table of Contents in the beginning.
If you are a child doing a specific research project, a Table of Contents would be very helpful. The photographs were beautiful and made me excited to learn more about Pandas.

This is one she has both written and illustrated and it is a winner. It has a sweetness and humor that make an old tale delightful reading.
The illustrations are a different style from the aforementioned, but lovely and refreshing. First Line: "Just the other day, Grandfather Panda was talking to his grandson.
Sep 05, Lynn Davidson rated it really liked it Shelves: reviewed , picture-books. A little panda loves to play, and his mother teaches him through play how to take care of himself.
One day, while his mother is getting food, the panda cub awakens from a nap to see that danger has found him. Amusing ending and fabulous illustrations.
Sep 19, Paul Candeias rated it it was ok Shelves: family , motivation. I enjoyed this book, mostly for the lessons it teaches about listening to parents and dealing with danger.
Bao Bao mother told him to find a better tree but he didn't listen to her is an example of how teachers can take that and turn it around to instill to children that it is important to listen to their parents.
And when the tiger begins to chase Bao Bao and he runs, that can be used to teach that sometimes when in danger the best thing to do is to just run away.
Lesson: A good lesson I would I enjoyed this book, mostly for the lessons it teaches about listening to parents and dealing with danger.
That lesson could be used to help teach listening to the children as they have to listen to the instructions of the teacher. Then you could even include a direction that says "Panda says run away from danger!
Sep 13, Melanie rated it really liked it Shelves: children-s-literature , picture-book , pandas , asian-continent , grandparents , storytelling , tigers , mothers-sons , parent-child.
A grandfather tells his grandson a story about a baby panda that loves to sleep in his favorite tree even though it really is too small for him.
One day when his mother travels far to find bamboo for dinner the little panda is in his too-small tree. While his mother is gone a tiger sneaks up on the panda baby and climbs his too-small tree.
The small panda climbs higher and higher but he eventually falls out of the tree, causing the tiger to go flying from the springing branch.
A sweet story. Children might find it hard to understand that the tiger went flying because the weight of the panda was holding down the branch he was on.
When the panda fell the branch bounced back into place sending the tiger flying through the air. Shelves: childrens-picture-books. I really loved The Quiet Book and was so excited when I found that the illustrator, Liwska, had also authored and illustrated this book.
While "Little Panda" doesn't shine quite as much as "The Quiet Book" it is still full of absolutely adorable artwork I love the tiger!
Jun 01, Kristen rated it really liked it Shelves: childrens , picture-books. This could've been an ordinary story of the lessons a little panda learned from his mama, but the dialogue and art give it such warmth and gentle character that it comes off as snug and dear, not sticky-sweet.
The book-ending parts of the grandfather and the little panda are charming, too, and nicely frame the story. Sep 01, Whirl Girl rated it really liked it Shelves: china , top-five.
The animal books are always a big hit with The Whirl Girl, and we had to have a panda book for China. I liked how this showed the natural life of a panda, but still had enough of a story for The Whirl Girl to enjoy it.
